Panasonic Grid-EYE Sensor

The Panasonic Grid-EYE is an IR sensor utilising 64 thermopile sensors arranged in an 8*8 grid to allow detection and tracking of temperature and movement.

Ideally suited to people monitoring and tracking due to its ability to distinguish between the heat generated by a human body and a stationary heat-source such as a radiator, once locked on to a heat-source the Grid-EYE remembers if it is a person and continues to track it even when the person is still over a long period, e.g. in bed asleep or on a sofa watching the television.

The Grid-EYE can also be used in lighting control, building automation, and temperature detection such as refrigerator temperature or detecting whether a cooking hob is left on when mounted in a cooker hood.

The Grid-EYE sensor is ideally suited for use in applications such as:
